I’m currently a senior at Stanford, where I serve as captain of the basketball team. I originally joined the program as a walk-on, and through hard work, self-belief, and persistence, I earned a full scholarship for the next three years, ultimately working my way into a leadership role. As a starter this season, I’m averaging a career high 10.8 ppg, while shooting 43% from beyond the arc, 92% from the free throw line, and am second on the team in steals with 1.5 per game. I also hit a buzzer-beater shot to beat Saint Louis and win the Acrisure Invitational Championship earlier this season.
Before college, I was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame as the top Jewish basketball player in high school. Later that same summer, I competed in the Maccabiah Games in Israel, winning a gold medal for Team USA in the open division as the only high school player on the roster.
Outside of basketball, I love the things that connect me to my family and culture. My favorite comfort food will always be my mom’s chicken soup, especially when it’s made with the iconic Manischewitz matzah ball soup mix. At my core, I’m someone who values community, culture, family, and competition, and I try to conduct my life as a true mensch.
